We invite our members and fellow travelers to participate in the next phase of Har Shalom’s presence in our lives. We are so fortunate to have a meeting place, a place for our growing library, and a place of welcome for those of us who are exploring our connection to Judaism. A Synagogue for Missoula! We will be having a Capital Campaign Committee meeting on Tuesday, January 26th at 6:00 pm, including a potluck dinner. Anyone interested in joining the committee is encouraged to come to talk about exciting upcoming fund raising ideas

We are working hard in our campaign to increase our ownership of our marvelous building that has become a worship center, a community gathering place and a school and a social hall. So much has happened in the three-plus years we have been here! Please consider giving any amount you can to keep our wonderful synagogue. Thank you! Twelve ways you can support the Synagogue for Missoula Capital Campaign
1. Set aside a portion of your
family's weekly tzedakah coins
for the building fund.
2. Call your Uncle Ernie and
ask him for the bar mitzvah
present he never got around
to sending. 3. Come to any committee
meeting to share your ideas
and enthusiasm. 4. Ask your employer to consider
a donation. Or find out if the
company might make a
matching donation. 5. Do you really need another
crockpot for your birthday?
Ask friends to make a donation
in your name. 6. It is customary on the
anniversary of the death of a
loved one to make a donation
to the synagogue. Why not
choose the campaign fund? 7. Check with a tax advisor to see
if you can make a donation out
of your IRA without paying
taxes on the distribution. 8. Got stocks? You can donate
stocks that have appreciated
and get a deduction for the
current amount (even though
your original purchase amount
was less). Again, please consult
a tax advisor first.) 9. Host "A Synagogue for
Missoula" party, and pass the hat. 10. Send a contribution in memory
of a loved one or in honor of
someone special to you.
11. Send our "Jewish Geography" packet
to anyone outside ofMissoula.
